Reverse Engineered object: Final Renders!

Image
The final renders are here! This project was a long one and one where I had many outside factors that made it more challenging then it needed to be. From getting sick to my own program and computer glitching, I am happy to say that the many crises I had were overcome in the end! This water bottle is definitely one I can confidently donate to goodwill now that I have reverse engineered its components and rebuilt it in Rhino!  I still have much to learn and many things I most likely forgot, but this milestone was one well worked for and I am ready to move on to the next one!  Wish me luck!

Reverse engineered object: update 2 (Still in a crisis but I will make it! Thanks reading week!)

Image
Hello, I am coming at you late as I have been sick this week. I was sick before as well recently, however what I got this time was much worse. It cycled through my family and somehow I ended up as the last one to get the flu and am now under the weather and behind on all of my school work, including this project. The only thing I was able to do was connect the bottom halves of the bottle before I was too sick to get out of bed. Luckily for me, reading week will be where I can work work work on this project and get it done! I made sure to get all of my other classes things done so that I can focus on this and really prepare a solid and well crafted reverse engineered project.  Wish me luck once again, I hope everyone stays healthy in this snowy weather as well!

Surface design: Wood Engraving!

Image
For my engraving I chose to use the provided birch wood that was set aside in the io lab for the classes! I felt that the light tone of the wood would really help show the different layers of my design in a more clear and beautiful way!  These are the results: The only problem I have with this is the little cracks as well as the uneven tone of the black. However on that same note, I actually think those things give my design character! Not only that, nut these imperfections match the Tajik embroidery style I emulated and bring out the nostalgia for me of the many copious amounts of imperfect yet beautiful pieces of hand done decor I have seen at home and from many family friends from Tajikistan as well!  Original Engraving I think this project was a success and I am proud of how well my design translated through the wood engraving!
