Surface design: Wood Engraving!

For my engraving I chose to use the provided birch wood that was set aside in the io lab for the classes! I felt that the light tone of the wood would really help show the different layers of my design in a more clear and beautiful way!

These are the results:

The only problem I have with this is the little cracks as well as the uneven tone of the black. However on that same note, I actually think those things give my design character! Not only that, nut these imperfections match the Tajik embroidery style I emulated and bring out the nostalgia for me of the many copious amounts of imperfect yet beautiful pieces of hand done decor I have seen at home and from many family friends from Tajikistan as well!

I think this project was a success and I am proud of how well my design translated through the wood engraving!
