Papercraft Objects: Final Revision

 This week was work time for the final revision of our papercraft objects!

Class Critique response: 
The main thing I needed to work on for the final was to add in the lighting so that my project properly glowed. Then it was to adjust the size of the box for the "Dear diary," side of my lightbox journal! 


I bought 2 different types of LED lights for this project: Fairy lights and multi coloured lights. Both of these are from the dollar store. 



On the left side of my lightbox journal I chose to use fairy lights to keep it a warm tone and give emphasis to the words. 



For the right side I chose to use the coloured lights to give off the fantasy story telling vibe and make it stand out the most within the project. 


The lights are threaded through a small square in the far side opposite to the spine of the lightbox journal so they can be turned off and on.

Reverse Engineered object: Final Renders!

The final renders are here! This project was a long one and one where I had many outside factors that made it more challenging then it needed to be. From getting sick to my own program and computer glitching, I am happy to say that the many crises I had were overcome in the end! This water bottle is definitely one I can confidently donate to goodwill now that I have reverse engineered its components and rebuilt it in Rhino!  I still have much to learn and many things I most likely forgot, but this milestone was one well worked for and I am ready to move on to the next one!  Wish me luck!

Mesh Mashup: Concept generation

Remix Culture For this project we were assigned to create 10 concept pieces that uses the ides of "Remix Culture". This is an art style that encourages artists and creators to edit, splice, and combine preexisting ideas, icons, and materials to form something new. In Remix culture, no object is in one permanent state, instead, artists are able to reframe the narrative of whatever medium they are working with (song, artwork, design, object, etc.) into something completely new. This is done through the means of deconstruction, transformation, contrasting, and re-using other media. Remix culture is heavily used within storytelling, Rap music, graffiti, and more. 1. Chess pieces: Render and 3D print

 Due to my personal health issues and my packed scheduling, I will have to update this post once I finally get to my appointment with a prusa mini! Here are my final renders of my design on a chess board, as well as in a rendered view showing its full form!
